Beautiful woodblock print "Yotsugidori yousui hikifune" (Towboats along the Yotsugi-dori Canal) is by Hiroshige Ando (1797-1858).  Recarved edition. Printed in mid 1900. The unique composition and wonderful colors. Title "Yotsugidori yousui hikifune" on the upper right of image, Artist name "Hiroshige ga" on the lower left of image. Publisher seal "Shitaya Uoei" seal on the lower left margin. Hiroshige Ando (1797 - 1858) was a Japanese ukiyo-e artist, considered the last great master of that tradition. Hiroshige is best known for his landscapes, such as the series "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido",  "The Sixty-nine Stations of the Kiso Kaido" and "One Hundred Famous View of Edo".

Technique: Woodblock
Paper size (print size) : 10 and 1/2 x 15 and 3/4 inches (26.5 x 40 cm)
Condition: Excellent condition with great colors. Faintest ink smudge below the title. I don't think this affects the wonderful image at all. Once tipped on left edge of verso. Please see the picture.
