Unique Japanese woodblock print, Sumo wrestler portrait "Kitanoumi Toshimitsu" is by Motoki Matsubayashi (b. 1948).  Title "Kitanoumi Toshimitsu" (Sumo Wrestler's name) on the lower right corner of the image. Artist signature "Motoki" with artist red seal on the lower left corner of the image.  A tiny square artist's red seal on the upper right corner. Limited edition size of 200. Motoki Matsubayashi is well known Modern Sumo artist and illustrator (mostly his subjects are Sumo wrestlers or Rakugo artists)

Kitanoumi was the 55th Yokozuna (most highest rank) . He was the dominant Sumo wrestler in the sport during the 1970s. Kitanoumi was promoted to yokozuna at the age of 21, becoming the youngest ever to achieve sumo’s top rank. (Resources:Wikipedia)
