- Kobushi 1 (Kobushi Magnolia 1) -

The charming woodblock print “Kobushi 1” (Kobushi Magnolia 1) is by Hajime Namiki (born 1947). This limited edition was printed in 2009 in an edition of only 300 prints. It is hand-signed “H. Namiki” with the artist’s red seal, numbered 203/300, and titled and dated in pencil on the lower margin. A truly beautiful and elegant work.

Personally, I have a special fondness for the Kobushi Magnolia. Its blossoms look like miniature magnolias—small, delicate, and full of charm. Blooming in early spring, the white petals, pleasant fragrance, signaling the arrival of the season.
