("Looks Shy-Customs and Manners 32 aspects)

Highly unusual hand made woodblock print by Yoshitoshi Tsukioka (1839-1892). "Hazukashisou - Fuzoku 32 sou no uchi" ( Looks Shy - Customs and manners 32 aspects) this is re-carved edition. First printed Meiji 21nen (1888) by Kamekichi Tsunashima. Signed on the left of the image. This elegant larger re-carved edition by Soudosha Publishers from a limited edition series of only 980 sheets and published on October 1, 1977. Still tipped to original presentation folder. Beautifully embossed. Strong colors. This print shows a young woman in the Meiji Era. She is biting the sleeve of Kimono. When a young woman is shy, the woman shows this gesture. This is a typical gesture of a young Japanese woman in those days. You can see this gesture often in Japanese traditional dance.

Paper size: 11 inches by 16 inches
Condition: Pristine Condition. Flawless, bright colors with fill margins. A faint spot under the subtitle. Please see the last picture. It is hardly noticeable.
