Stunning woodblock print "Heian Jingu"(Heian Jingu Shrine) is by Takeji Asano. This is one of "Kyoraku Meisho" (Famous Places of Kyoto) series. Titled "Heian Jingu"(Heian Jingu Shrine), Dated "Showa 32nen" (1957) and "Takeji ga, koku" (Drawn and carved by Takeji) on the lower right of image.

Takeji started to work for this "Kyoraku Meisho series" (12 designs) in 1955.
Very fantastic sunset scene at Heian Jingu Shrine. Great colors.

The Heian Jingu Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan. The Shrine is ranked as a Beppyou Jinja (the top rank for shrines) by the Association of Shinto Shrines. It is listed as an important cultural property of Japan.
