Daimon Kinoshita is well known Modern Ukiyo-e artist. Title "Tochinishiki" (see below). Published by Kyoto Hanga in. This woodblock print series "THE SUMO UKIYO-E" was approved by Nippon Sumo Association officially. In 1985 the Nippon Sumo Association decided to revitalize the old Sumo nishiki-e tradition and commissioned a series of sumo wrestler ukiyo-e to Daimon Kinoshita at the occasion of the opening of the National Sports Arena in Ryogoku.
Publisher seal "Kyoto Hanga-in", Printer and Carver seal, artist seal "Daimon" and "Shozuri"(First edition) seal. The Nippon Sumo Association seal with copyright on the bottom margin. Fine mica on the background. Lightly embossed. Still tipped to original folder. This print comes with explanation paper, original decorative folder, and envelope. Authentic hand carved and hand printed Japanese woodblock print.

Tochinishiki :Tochinishiki Kiyotaka (1925 - 1990) was a Sumo wrestler from Tokyo, Japan. He was the sport's 44th Yokozuna. He won ten top division tournament championships. He became the head coach of Kasugano stable in 1959 and was head of the Japan Sumo Association from 1974 until 1988. Very famous Sumo wrestler.
